Citroën — C5 Aircross, still from the campaign

Citroën — C5 Aircross

A one-minute single-take launch film for the Citroën C5 Aircross 2025 — a camera move that had to be designed, and proven to work, before anyone stepped on set. Three shooting days of motion-control robotics and virtual production, standing on two weeks of prep.

03 Lighting
04 Grade supervision

Working with director Shapxo, DoP Nikita Khatsarevich and Cinemotion Robotics, we built the whole film in Unreal Engine first and exported every move to the motion-control rig, so the live-action camera matched the virtual one and the physical and CGI halves resolved into one uninterrupted shot.

Process

Behind the scenes

Virtual production and motion-control robotics, synced inside Unreal Engine 5.

Robotic camera moves run across the real and the digital world inside one engine, so that a move made on set and the same move made in the engine resolve to a single shot. These run from the set to final pixels.

Set to final pixels
Finished shot over the motion-control turntable
Finished shot over the previs rig blocking
Graded against the raw render pass
